Episode:
"A Time to Love - A Time to Cry"
Airdate:
November 12, 1968
Synopsis:
Pete, Linc, and Julie try to help a probation officer clear one of his
parolees of a murder charge.
RL's Character:
Dave Emmons
Favorite Scene:
Any scene with Dave and Julie, but especially the one on the dock
while they're waiting for Robbie's motorcycle to be pulled out of the water. I also liked their second scene in
Robbie's apartment where they talk about the generation gap.
Favorite Lines:
Dave (after letting Kincade get away): "You know, that's the
first chance in my whole life I've ever had to be a hero and I just blew it."
Julie: "Oh, you looked ten-feet tall to me."
* * * * *
Dave: "Now, if I'd met you fifteen years ago..."
Julie (laughs): "I was six."
Dave: "Well, you see, it wouldn't have worked then, either."
Comments:
I thought RL and Peggy Lipton had great chemistry together. They
made a striking couple. I liked the way their hands were touching in the last scene before the killer was revealed.
Speaking of the killer... I hated the ending. It didn't make any
sense to me that Dave was the one who was responsible. How could he have cared so much about Robbie, yet let him continue
to believe he had killed Lou Ann?
RL Factor:
He looks so good in this one that it makes my heart positively ache.
